The Bride and Groom
Bride’s Name: Christina Barnes
Groom’s Name: Chase Barnes
Wedding Date: May, 5th 2017
How you met your fiancé? We met through some mutual friends while he was home on leave from the Army.
How did he propose? We had been going out for 2 years and 5 months when Chase proposed at the 2016 Military Police Ball in front of 200+ people! He told me he had to go up and introduce a speaker and pulled me up to go with him. He introduced himself and “his beautiful girlfriend” and he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring he had purchased when we’d only been dating for 8 months- Worth the wait!
Your Bridal Gown & Accessories
Who was the wedding gown designer, and what was the style? Allure Bridals 9356
Favorite Feature about your dress: I love the beaded bling and the fit/flare. And the shear cut out on the sides.
How did you know your dress was “the one”? I went into the store not wanting to try on dresses. I wasn’t in the mood but my mom insisted I try some on. So I tried a bunch on and had no excitement. But then Ashley, the consultant helping me, pulled this out but it wasn’t until she zipped me up when I got the “feeling”! My stomach did a flip flop and I couldn’t stop smiling! It was perfect! And then I learned it was my dream designer! I’ve been obsessed with Allure since I got engaged!
Describe your experience at Pence and Panache. : Amazing! The staff were so helping and encouraging! I which I had another excuse to shop there!
What accessories did you choose to accent your dress: A gorgeous veil with matching trim beading and hair clip with little white Flowers on it.
Your Wedding Day
Wedding Venue: Stonebridge Wedding Venue
Who was your Wedding Photographer: I had two separate photographers. For my bridals: Armondo Vera photography . For the wedding day: Kortney Boyett Photography.
What was your “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”? I didn’t have a something old but my something new – My dress and sparkle Kate Spade Keds, something borrowed – my husband’s name tag, something blue – comfy undies (all I had with me lol)
What is your #1 tip for brides in the planning process? I’ll give 3!
#3 Hide tissues in your bra cause you will cry!
#2 Get some alone time to relax the before the ceremony! Oh and eat!!
#1 Stop! Stop as many times as you can on your wedding day and just take the moment in because it goes by fast! During the ceremony just stop and look at the love of your life! During the reception stop and enjoy your food! Stop and look around you at how amazing everything looks! And stop and talk to your close close friends!
And most of all stop your hubby for some alone time after the ceremony and get as many dances in together as you can! You get pulled around so much during the big day it’s hard to enjoy the little moments!
How do you describe the theme of your wedding? Vintage
What color palette did you select and why did you choose it? Purple is my favorite color and orange is my husband’s so since it was a spring wedding we went through light Iris/Lavender and peach.
Do you have any advice for brides who are still searching for their perfect bridal gown? Don’t stress and keep an open mind. Sometimes the dress you think you want just doesn’t work when you try it on. And trust the “feeling”. You’ll know when you try the right one on!
What was your favorite part of your wedding day? The few alone times I got with my husband. After the ceremony we went into a room alone before meeting with family and walking outside at our venue after taking pictures.
